Brittany Yanniello

Brittany Yanniello (pronounced “Ya-nello”) serves as the Jerry and Linda Moore Middle School Head Band Director. While overseeing the entire band program at Moore Middle School, she is the teacher-of-record for the Honors Band (Varsity Middle School Band), as well as the beginning trumpet, trombone, tuba and Directors' Aide classes. 


She has an extensive background in concert and marching band, having taught beginning band classes for eight years while also directing varsity, non-varsity, and sub non-varsity groups, including leading bands to Sweepstakes awards at the Texas UIL Concert and Sightreading Contests. At the Beach Within Reach Band Festival her band has received Best in Class. Her students have gone on to successfully compete in the TMEA and ATSSB All-Region Audition process as well as the TMEA Honor Band process.

Ms. Yanniello holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas and completed coursework at Sam Houston State University where she lead the SHSU Bearkat Marching Band for two seasons. Her primary instrument is the French horn. Mrs. Yanniello also marched with The Bluecoats and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps as mellophone player and drum major while advancing to the DCI World Championships as a finalist three times.  Ms. Yanniello is an active clinician in both the concert and marching activities having conducted Region Band and provided clinics to marching bands, and she is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.  Ms. Yanniello has two incredible daughters who she loves to swim and travel with. She loves teaching in Celina, and is so proud to wear orange! Go Bobcats!

 Nathan Urushima

Nathan Urushima (pronounced "oo-roo-she-ma") is an associate director at Moore Middle School. Mr. Urushima has been teaching for 5 years. Bands under Mr. Urushima's direction have received Sweepstakes and Superior ratings at UIL evaluations, as well as students earning Superior Ratings in Solo and Ensemble Contests. Mr. Urushima’s responsibilities at Moore Middle School include conducting the Symphonic Band, assisting with the Honors Band and Concert Band, and teaching the beginner flute, oboe, bassoon, and clarinet.

 

Mr. Urushima graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University with a degree in Music Education in 2017. While at TCU, Mr. Urushima studied percussion under Dr. Brian West and Dr. Richard Gipson. As a percussionist at TCU, he performed in the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Orchestra, Steel Band, and Marching Band. As a non-percussionist, he has played bassoon in the Symphonic Band, oboe in the Concert Band, and was a Drum Major for the TCU Marching Band. Outside of TCU, Mr. Urushima performed with Drum Corp International in the Santa Clara Vanguard front ensemble. Mr. Urushima also holds memberships to Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Urushima is excited to be teaching in Celina! Go Bobcats!

Glenna Stalcup

pronounced "Stahl-cup"

Glenna Stalcup serves as an assistant director at Jerry and Linda Moore Middle School. Ms. Stalcup is a graduate of Celina High school and is excited to begin her first year as a band director in her hometown! Ms. Stalcup’s responsibilities at Moore Middle School include conducting the Concert Band, assisting with the Honors Band and Symphonic Band, and teaching beginning horn, euphonium, flute, and saxophone. 


Ms. Stalcup graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education in 2023. While at TAMUC, Ms. Stalcup studied horn under Mr. Michael Morrow. As a horn player, Ms. Stalcup performed in the Wind Ensemble and the Commencement Ceremonial Brass Ensemble. Ms. Stalcup also participated in the “Pride” marching band, where she performed at the 2019 BOA Grand Nationals Championship, served as mellophone section leader in 2021, and finally as a Drum Major in 2022. Other ensemble experience included the "Pride of the Court" Basketball Band and the Steel Band Percussion Ensemble. In addition to performing, Ms. Stalcup was president of the Zeta Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. To conclude her undergrad, Ms. Stalcup student-taught at Marcus High School and Lamar Middle School in Lewisville ISD.

Ms. Stalcup’s professional memberships include the Texas Music Educators Association, the National Association For Music Educators, Texas Bandmasters Association, Young Band Directors of Texas, and Kappa Kappa Psi. Ms. Stalcup had the honor of receiving the 2022 Malcolm Helm Memorial Scholarship from the Texas Bandmasters’ Association and the Future Music Educator Award from the National Association for Music Education - Texas Chapter.

In her spare time, Ms. Stalcup enjoys spending time with her friends and family, listening to musicals, and playing board games. Ms. Stalcup is so excited to be teaching in Celina! Go Bobcats!!!
