Celina Percussion Equipment List
This is a suggestive list of the necessary implements and materials for members of the Celina Percussion program. The makes and models listed are suggestions based on the quality and durability of construction as well as the quality of sound they produce. Many other manufacturers construct items that are of equal quality and may be substituted for the items listed. However, to insure that students have quality materials to performs with and which will last (with proper care), any substitutions must be approved by Mr. Gilmore. Listed with each item are retailers that we use consistently due to the quality of service and speedy turn-around on deliveries.

At any time, a percussionist is called upon to play on a variety of instruments. Unfortunately, there is no one stick or mallet that can accomplish the needs of every instrument and every possible playing situation. The items listed will cover the basic needs of most performance situations. However, at times, an instance will arise where the percussionist will need to purchase other items that will allow them to successfully execute the music at hand. more often than not, this situation will occur when a student is studying various solo literature where the implement plays an important role in producing the appropriate timbre for not only the instrument in question but in the character of the solo itself. Other instances that would demand the purchase of items not listed include - but are not limited to - timpani parts, snare solos, and various xylophone and marimba parts in ensemble literature. Students will not be asked to purchase exotic implements that would rarely be used. The school will provide these implements when necessary.
