On football game days and marching contest days, there is a LOT of
stuff to remember to bring. Most of the upperclassmen have found that
the best way to avoid forgetting something is to have a checklist and
pack everything the night before using this this list. Misti has come up
with the ULTIMATE list of stuff you need, so this would be a good list
to use as you’re packing.
For school:
• Polo (clean and ironed)
• Dark blue jeans
•Closed-toe shoes
•you can wear a gray turtleneck under your polo when it’s cold!
For uniform check:
• Travel shirt
• Workout shorts
• Dinkles
• Black socks
• Clean gloves (must have new gloves for any contest, homecoming, and for the state football game!)
• percussionists need wristbands
• Clean shako
• Uniform
• Clean collar guard
• Black Ponytail (girls only!)
For instrument check:
• Instrument (obviously…)
• Woodwinds need 4 good reeds
• Cork/ slide grease/valve oil
• Flip folder and lyre
• Drill book
• Music
For cold games:
• Sweats and sweatshirt (for on the bus and warm-up)
• Long johns (to wear under your uniform because as hot as it is during the summer, it doesn’t keep you very warm when it’s cold)
• Extra gloves (especially if you’re a woodwind because in the stands YOUR FINGERS WILL FREEZE OFF! Not really, but it does get pretty darn cold….)
• Hand warmers fit very well under gloves too
EXTRA!
• Bobbie pins/clippies (for girls to keep your hair in your shako)
• DEODORANT!!! (bring it, wear it…we don’t like stinky band buses!)
• Money for fast food dinner and snacks
• Fanny pack
• Water bottle
