•Right now, you should be working on pages 18 and 19 in the book, and getting ready for your nest test line. Are you working on your scales a little bit every day? Current scale: Concert G. keep reviewing concert Bb and Ab.
• REEDS: practice setting the embouchure, breathing, and producing a good sound on all notes. Work on pages 10 & 11 in the book and “Up on the Housetop”

• PERCUSSION: paraiddles, exercise 4B, exercise 6, progressive reading, practice in front of a mirror to check your hand position, fingers, wrist, and arms while working on the rebound stroke and down stroke

•practice proper breathing and playing techniques for everything you do
•practice your scales (G, C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, D, A, E, and chromatic)
•Your solo copies are coming soon
•Practice your contest music
•Practice your “Foundations” book.

You should now be fully integrating into the rest of the band. This means that you need to be mastering the following scales: G, C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, D, A, and E. You should be able to show mastery of all the concepts in the 6th grade theory text. If you need help on on any of these items, please sign up for individual help sessions with Mrs. Cobb. Sign-up sheet is located by the door on the bulletin board in the band hall.
